The newborn brand made in Italy chooses the Portomaggiore Urban Arts Festival to launch its innovative message: Show your skills!
Over 30 artists at work on 20 walls for the second edition of ArtU – Festival of Urban Arts, organized by the Municipality of Portomaggiore with the collaboration of the Pro Loco Portomaggiore, which ended last weekend in the Ferrara area.
The event, conceived as a contamination between contemporary art, architecture and city furniture, was born with the aim of regenerating and giving new identity to neglected or simply forgotten places. By grafting their roots into the territory, the most democratic and inclusive form of creativity allows them to return to the center of a visual experience.
This strong desire to connect and make the social fabric interact with public spaces through art was supported by TAG Colors, the new brand that promises a revolution in the landscape of graffiti and Urban art. An all-Italian production created by artists and technicians in search of uncompromising quality, capable of bringing sustainability and innovation to the world of graffiti.
SUSTAINABLE ART IN YOUR HANDS
TAG Colors wants to be an invitation to look at reality with different eyes: every place can be tinged with art under the motto Show your skills thanks to versatile products with minimal environmental impact. Through an exclusive formulation, the sprays of the line, made up of 96 colors with a matte finish, offer lasting coverage, free from drips and variations over time. The chromatic vivacity of their finish blends homogeneously with the background paint with very fast drying times, as well as avoiding reflections in the photographs. They guarantee a transversal use, proving practical and fast on large fields, but also of the highest quality in the precision sections thanks to a range of valves with which to modulate the delivery for multiple effects.
The result of years of experience in the sector and advanced technological research, today sprays are the least polluting on the market as they do not contain heavy metals, contaminants or pigments that are dangerous to health. In compliance with the strictest international regulations, they ensure a content of volatile compounds in the environment (VOC) that is well below the established limits. The gas contained does not attack atmospheric ozone and the materials used are 100% recyclable.
TAG COLORS CREW, PRESENT THE ARTIST RASH
Electric power stations, benches and more parks, public buildings, civic centers and green areas of the hamlets of Gambulaga, Quartiere, Portoverrara, Ripapersico were the paintings of artists from all over Italy, free to express themselves on the basis of their own style.
Among them, Edoardo Mendez (Rash) of the TAG Colors Crew, who grew up in Portomaggiore where, as a child, he came into contact with the world of graffiti on the street with brushes and spray paints on the wall. After years of experimentation as a graffiti writer, with lettering and decomposition of images, his work aims to search for new expressive languages combined with mixed painting techniques.
„In the work, created in 80 hours of work – says Edoardo Mendez – I wanted to create visual rhythm, both with figurative elements and with colors. The machines represented helped me to give life to this rhythm, to let off steam on a chromatic level by communicating an idea of pulsation and dynamics. It was the first wall of this size and I tried to cure it as best I could using a mixed technique, including brush colors and about 50 sprays, repeating passages from one to the other.
It was a great satisfaction to make my first intervention of this entity right where I used a spray for the first time, among other things 100 meters from the first lettering. I am tied to my territory, especially to its rural soul, coming from a peasant family in which the connection between man and nature has always been strong. It gave me a lot on a human level but also hindered professionally, when there was still mistrust of this form of art, so much so that I moved as soon as I finished school in Ferrara. Now returning thanks to ArtU was exciting ”.

Oltre 30 artisti al lavoro su 20 muri per la seconda edizione di ArtU – Festival delle Arti Urbane, organizzato dal Comune di Portomaggiore con la collaborazione della Pro Loco Portomaggiore, che si è concluso lo scorso weekend nella località ferrarese.
La manifestazione, ideata come contaminazione tra arte contemporanea, architettura e arredo cittadino, nasce con l’intento di rigenerare e dare nuova identità a luoghi trascurati o semplicemente dimenticati. Innestando le proprie radici nel territorio, la forma di creatività più democratica e inclusiva permette loro di tornare al centro di un’esperienza visiva.
Questo forte desiderio di connettere e far interagire il tessuto sociale con gli spazi pubblici attraverso l’arte è stato sostenuto da TAG Colors, il nuovo marchio che promette una rivoluzione nel panorama dei graffiti e della Urban art. Una produzione tutta italiana creata da artisti e tecnici alla ricerca di una qualità senza compromessi, in grado di portare nel mondo dei graffiti sostenibilità e innovazione.
L’ARTE SOSTENIBILE NELLE TUE MANI
TAG Colors vuole essere un invito a guardare la realtà con occhi diversi: ogni luogo può tingersi di arte all’insegna del motto Show your skills grazie a prodotti versatili dal minimo impatto ambientale. Attraverso una formulazione esclusiva, gli spray della linea, composta da 96 colori dalla finitura opaca, offrono una copertura duratura, priva di colature e variazioni nel tempo. La vivacità cromatica della loro finitura si fonde in maniera omogenea alla pittura di fondo con tempi di asciugatura rapidissimi, oltre a evitare riflessi nelle fotografie. Garantiscono un utilizzo trasversale, dimostrandosi pratici e veloci sulle ampie campiture, ma anche della massima qualità nei tratti di precisione grazie a una gamma di valvole con cui modulare l’erogazione per molteplici effetti.
Frutto di anni di esperienza nel settore e avanzate ricerche tecnologiche, ad oggi gli spray sono i meno inquinanti sul mercato non contenendo metalli pesanti, contaminanti o pigmenti pericolosi per la salute. Cabine di energia elettrica, panchine e ancora parchi, edifici popolari, centri civici e aree verdi delle frazioni di Gambulaga, Quartiere, Portoverrara, Ripapersico sono state le tele degli artisti provenienti da tutta Italia, liberi di esprimersi sulla base del proprio stile.
Tra loro, Edoardo Mendez (Rash) della TAG Colors Crew, cresciuto a Portomaggiore dove, fin da ragazzino, entra in contatto con il mondo dei graffiti in strada con pennelli e vernici spray su muro. Dopo anni di sperimentazioni da graffiti writer, con lettering e scomposizione di immagini, il suo lavoro punta alla ricerca di nuovi linguaggi espressivi uniti a tecniche pittoriche miste.
“Nell’opera, realizzata in 80 ore di lavoro – dichiara Edoardo Mendez – ho voluto creare ritmo visivo, sia con elementi figurativi sia con le cromie. Le macchine rappresentate mi hanno aiutato a dare vita a questa ritmica, a sfogarmi a livello cromatico comunicando un’idea di pulsazione e di dinamica. Era la prima parete di queste dimensioni e ho cercato di curarla al meglio utilizzando tecnica mista, tra tinte a pennello e circa 50 spray, ripetendo passaggi di una sull’altra.
È stata una bella soddisfazione realizzare il mio primo intervento di questa entità proprio dove ho usato la prima volta uno spray, tra l’altro a 100 metri dal primo lettering. Sono legato al mio territorio, soprattutto alla sua anima rurale provenendo da una famiglia di contadini in cui la connessione tra uomo e natura è sempre stata forte. Mi ha dato molto a livello umano ma anche ostacolato professionalmente, quando c’era ancora diffidenza verso questa forma d’arte, tanto da spostarmi appena finite le scuole a Ferrara. Ora tornare grazie ad ArtU è stato emozionante”.
